Patch 0.9.33 ciphers

Mistfall Hunter Ciphers Guide

Ciphers are rare equippable abilities that amplify your class beyond its base skill set. Unlike weapons and armor, ciphers grant entirely new mechanics — burst abilities, passive multipliers and combat resets. Each cipher can be equipped once per loadout.

How Ciphers Work

Active Ciphers

Triggered manually with a dedicated cipher key. High burst payoff, combat-window timing required.

Passive Ciphers

Always active while equipped. Modify base mechanics — extend slows, boost crit, add element damage.

Enhancement Ciphers

Hybrid ciphers with both passive and a once-per-combat active component. Most complex category.

Only one cipher can be equipped at a time. Cipher slots unlock at character level 20. Class-restricted ciphers show the class requirement on the equip screen.

Ciphers FAQ

What are Ciphers in Mistfall Hunter?

Ciphers are equippable special abilities that grant powerful effects beyond normal skills. Each cipher has a type (Active, Passive or Enhancement) and rarity. Some are restricted to specific classes.

How do you get ciphers in Mistfall Hunter?

Ciphers drop from specific bosses or can be crafted with rare materials. The Ashen Cipher drops from Ashenfang (guaranteed on first kill after Patch 0.9.3). The Frost Cipher drops from Frost Titan (8%) or can be crafted. The Void Cipher drops from Ancient Guardian (5%).

Can all classes use ciphers in Mistfall Hunter?

The Ashen Cipher is equippable by all classes. The Frost Cipher is restricted to Blackarrow and Sorcerer. The Void Cipher is restricted to Shadowstrix and Sorcerer. Check each cipher page for class requirements.

What is the best cipher in Mistfall Hunter?

The Ashen Cipher (Legendary) is the strongest cipher overall — 800% AoE damage plus the Ignite stack mechanic. For Blackarrow, the Frost Cipher extends all slow effects by 40%. For Shadowstrix, the Void Cipher provides a combat-reset "no-hit" window.
